Colorful, Whimsical Furniture from Dust!

Green Bookcase from Dust Furniture

I love furniture, that is obvious, I wouldn’t blog about it if I didn’t. But I really love fun, funky and imaginative furniture. The furniture collection from dust is all this and more.

Stacked Cabinet No. 6 - Together We CanDust Furniture is fun because it looks like something right out of a surrealist painting. It has a tripped out, Alice in Wonderland aesthetic where a stack of mismatched furniture balanced precariously is perfectly logical and functional, even normal like the Stacked Cabinet no. 6 – Together We Can.

The collection is funky because each piece is a work of art with a curved, slightly off-kilter look and improbably curved yet usable drawers like in the Bookcase no.7 seen above.  The color palette used by Dust Furniture adds a distinctive element of funk with cool paint colors like Apple Green, Burnt Violet and Cerulean Blue or interesting stain colors that bring out the beauty of the natural wood grain.

Clock no. 1 - Grandfather Clock

The imaginative nature of the furniture is explored in almost every niche of  traditional furniture from cabinetry, side tables and wine racks to this brilliantly balanced Grandfather Clock.

Each creative piece springs from the mind of artist and furniture maker Vincent  Leman, from Valparaiso, Indiana and is hand-crafted with care in America. With a solid base in traditional furniture making, born from growing up working in the family’s custom cabinetry and woodworking shop, each piece is a conscious decision to be abstract and quirky.

The amazing abstract traditional furniture from Dust Furniture looks great in a modern design setting or blends nicely with more traditional home furniture to at a cool kick of whimsy. For a look at the rest of the collection, check out the Dust Furniture website. For more information on the Dust Furniture story, check out this video.

The fine folks at Adapt Modern Furniture have the perfect solution.  The Pollock Screen Cabinet is a clean, modern wood cabinet, hand-made by Amish craftsman, yet designed to hide away that flat

Bamboo Glowbox by Iannone Design

Surprisingly Artistic Modern Cabinet At first glance, the Bamboo Glow Box cabinet is a clean, concise and remarkably well constructed piece of bamboo furniture.  The attractive storage cabinet with its natural looking finish is perched on top of interestingly modern shaped bent steel legs. It would be a wonderfully warm addition to any modern decor. But when the interior is lit, the real wonder of this piece becomes clear as the translucent doors allow the light to pass through in an irregular pattern vaguely resembling trees in the forest. Only then does the real warmth of
