Elysian Chrome Pendant by Eurofase

The Eurofase Elysian Pendant is a cool, retro Sputnik-style pendant by Eurofase Lighting that works great as a funky modern chandelier. Radiating from a shiny chrome orb of  the Elysian Pendant are 9 trumpet-shaped chrome arms that give it a futuristic look that is somewhat Art Deco, somewhat retro, but definitely perfect for any modern decor.

Elysian Chrome PendantEach arm is topped by 9 UFO-shaped, frosted white shade lit by 40 watt halogen bulbs that give off a clear, bold white light.  It looks perfect on a length of chair over a dining table or in a retro kitchen giving off plenty of clear task lighting while maintaining its vintage look. I love the classic Sputnik lamps but I think the Elysian Pendant makes a cool, contemporary alternative that gets people’s attention.

The Elysian Pendant is manufactured by Toronto-based Eurofase Lighting, a company with decades of experience producing creative, artistic and original contemporary modern lighting that allow you to express your style in many ways. I find that the modern lighting from Eurofase adds as much style, originality and ambiance when unlit as they do when they are illuminated.

Check out Eurostyle Lighting for the Elysian 9-Light Chrome Pendant and many other cool and funky contemporary, modern and retro lighting.

Retro Drum Shade Lighting from Inhabit Living

Nothing is more representative of that retro modern lighting style than a good old fashion drum shade. Whether it is on a table lamp or in this case a pendant lamp suspended from the ceiling, the drum shade has a certain mid-century appeal that just screams vintage.  Whether it is a single short drum shade, a double drum of varying diameter or a tall narrow diameter drum shade, they always give a room a quaint and homey feeling that I love. That is why I was so excited when Inhabit Living

Gemmy Pendant by SLAMP

A Gem of a Contemporary Pendant! Many people ask what the difference between modern lighting and contemporary lighting is, I say one of the major components that sets contemporary lighting apart is color. While modern lighting tends more towards crisp white, stainless steel and clear glass, contemporary lighting offers much more freedom of expression and materials that visually stimulate you and just make you feel good. Bright, vibrant colors can do so much with so little when used correctly. The important thing to remember is not to go overboard. A clean,

The Ultimate Mid-Century Modern Pendant Few pendant lamps represent all the things I love about mid-century style lighting better than the amazing, iconic Louie Pendant by Lights Up! The uniquely retro style of the Louie Pendant is a great addition to any room where you are trying to achieve that mid-century modern look that is so popular. The shape alone is inspiring, achieved with a series of three shades each in a different yet complimentary form factor that is representative of the early 1950′s atomic age style. It is topped by an up-swept

Finding Cool Mid-Century Retro Lighting

Retro Lighting Still Thrives   Mid-century retro lighting is that is cool and authentic can be a challenge to find.  While contemporary lighting is extremely popular now, it seems like you can find it everywhere. It’s even finding its way into those big box home centers. But for those of us with a passion for mid-century artifacts, it is a bit more difficult to find something that has that neo-futuristic, atomic age aesthetic without searching through garage sales in older neighborhoods of spending a fortune for some imported classic made in Finland or
