Contemporary Table & Floor Lamp Combined!

Space Saver Floor Lamp

Floor Lamp and Contemporary Table

This sleek and contemporary floor lamp is a great way to save a little space in a small room or apartment. First off, it you don’t need to find a small end or side table then find a decent looking lamp to fit on top of it, this table lamp takes up the job of both all in one compact and attractive package.

Lets start with the lamp, it has an 8″ white fabric shade that is cylindrical and throws off plenty of light for reading or just general lighting. It is suspended over the ebony finished table top by a square, tubular, brushed steel rod the passes through the shelves and takes up almost no surface area. This leaves plenty of space on the double hung shelves for a beverage or a paperback or just to use for display.

The base is made from the same brushed steel and has such a narrow footprint that it will easily fit in even the smallest area like beside a lounge chair or flanking a cool contemporary sofa. The base, its widest point, is only 13″ x 12″ and provides a sturdy footprint and the shelves are only about 10″ wide on this compact, contemporary floor lamp and end table combined.

The whole unit is sleek and beautiful in any contemporary decor, big or small. At only $249.99 from Euro Style Lighting the Space Saver Floor Lamp is an outstanding value too.

Table Will Self-Destruct

The Table That Limits Its Own Production Run! This cool modern table is part contemporary furniture piece, part artistic statement on mass production and handmade craftsmanship. The concept is pretty simple, the table is produced as a grid of concrete squares set together into a matrix. When the first table was made, a single square was removed from the tables matrix. Each subsequent table has the same square plus one additional square in the grid removed. The farther you get into the production run, the more squares are removed from the grid.

The Clever Sebastopol Table from Coalesse

The Sebastopol Tables are a highly adaptable and versatile contemporary table collection that was designed by Emilia Borgthorsdottir for Coalesse.  They are difficult to classify as a coffee table, side table, end table or occasional table because they can easily be configured into any or all of these. Born in Iceland and studying design at the Art Institute of California, Borgthorsdottir  has a passion for designing objects that are ergonomic and beautiful and this awesome modern table collection is both. The Sebastopol Tables actually have a clever geometric design that fits together in a number

Curve Table by Craig Siebeneck

The Curve Table is an elegantly simple yet beautiful modern side table created by Craig Siebeneck for Alec-Reid Design. This custom made modern side table has a chunky, laminated wood top that cleverly attaches to the organically curved walnut base by two metal rods that make it look like it is almost floating a few inches in front of it. The hand-carved wood base is made from beautifully grained walnut stained in a dark finish making it the perfect accent to the lighter wedge shaped wood top. I love the combination of metal and hand carved

Tarantula Table by Kino Guerin

If you are like me, you love the classic bent plywood style of modern furniture. The Tarantula Table by Kino Guerin is a beautiful example of what can be done by using pressure and steam to mold wood to do your bidding. Popularized in America during the early 1940′s by Charles Eames and Eero Saarinen, molded plywood had been used in the production of furniture since the mid-1800′s.
