The Womb Lounge Chair was designed in 1948 by Eero Saarinen, a talented Finnish/American Architect and Industrial Designer.  He is noted for the chairs he designed for Knoll, designing many important pieces of furniture including the Grasshopper Lounge Chair and Ottoman. Know for breaking the rules and challenging the old standards, he has gone on to set many of the new standards in modern furniture design. The Womb Chair is still one of most recognized representations of mid-century modern furniture design and is as popular today as ever.
